“I need to worship because without it I can forget that I have a big God beside me and live in fear. I need to worship because without it I can forget his calling and begin to live in a spirit of self-preoccupation. I need to worship because without it I lose a sense of wonder and gratitude and plod through life with blinders on. I need worship because my natural tendency is toward self-reliance and stubborn independence.” -John Ortberg
At Westwood United Methodist Church we gather each Sunday to worship Jesus Christ, partake in the sacraments, hear the good news of God’s Kingdom, make joyful noises, spend time in prayer, be throughly equipped by the Bible, and t0 spur one another onward in faith, in order to be sent out empowered by the Spirit to share God’s love. Our church spans the generations, and is composed of folks from all walks of life bringing their unique gifts and voices together. There are three distinct worship expressions but one church body. If you are looking for a community of imperfect people striving to love God and love others better, you are welcome here.
