Ministry Spotlight – The Welcome Team

The Welcome Team is a group of servant leaders who make sure that new comers to Westwood not only feel welcomed, but find their way.  Not only does the team pass out the welcome gift, but they are tasked to help new comers find their place here at Westwood UMC.

As we are praying to have 100 brought into Westwood, the team is praying for new people to step up and help them out a Sunday morning Greeters as well as helping them out at the Welcome Kiosks found in Eckel Hall, The Welcome Center and Epworth Hall.

This ministry is calling out to you!  Contact Pastor Beth Anne if you would like to serve on this ministry.  Outgoing personality is not required….just a willingness to say Good Morning and show God’s love.

Pray The Stations of the Cross

The palm branch crosses are an excellent reminder of the speed we move from the celebration of the palms to the lament over the passion. Holy week is a time to remember how Christ suffered and died for us. We are pilgrims on a journey retracing Jesus’ steps from the table to the tomb.

There are fourteen prayer stations, click on the first image in the gallery to get the larger view, and click through each one.

“Be Still and Know I am God”

Prayer Postcards Reminder

The Prayer Administrative Team wants to remind you of a very easy way for you to let others know that you’re praying for them! Simply send them a prayer postcard! They’ve even make it super easy by supplying the stamp!

Let’s face it, the world can be a cold and lonely place. As disciples of Christ, we are called to be the LIGHT in a dark and sometimes lonely world. What better way to shine that light than by writing out a postcard and letting someone know you care?!

Postcards are available in the Welcome Center and down in Eckel Hall by the Main Office. Take one (or two) today!
