Wesley Chapel Mission Center

At Wesley Chapel Mission Center (located in Over-the-Rhine), our vision is to be a guiding light and safe haven. To accomplish this vision, we currently provide after-school and summer programming for youth and children. The KLASS (Keep Learning After School Stops) program at Center serves 70-100 children K-12 daily.  We also provide one-on-one tutoring at our Saturday Star Club and enrichment activities on Super Saturdays.  God is good!

We would like to thank those of you who have made such a huge impact on this ministry over the past 15 years! Your time, resources and prayers are a huge part of God’s successes in our corner of Over-the-Rhine.  Here are someof the ways members of Westwood UMC have contributed:

  • Annual Breakfast Fundraiser volunteers and participants for 2 years
  • Participants (golfers and donors) in UMM Golf outing that benefitted WMCM
  • Contributions  (both money and gifts in kind for crafts and education) from:
  • Individuals
  • WUMC Mission Team
  • UMW Circles

Volunteers:

  • “I love Cincinnati” Weekend
  • Weekly helpers at the After School Program (KLASS)
  • Back-to-School Fair Volunteers
  • Prayer partners with children in KLASS
  • Board and committee members:

We are so thankful for all of this amazing support and really appreciate the opportunity to be May’s 2ndMile Giving Project.  Our biggest asset is people.  And our biggest need is people.  People who are willing to donate their time, money, resources and prayers. Find out more at wcmconline.org or on the Wesley Chapel Mission Center Facebook page.  We thank you for your extra mile giving, and if you feel called to do more, please contact Gail Stewart at gstewart806@gmail and we’ll get you connected.

Ministry Spotlight – The Welcome Team

The Welcome Team is a group of servant leaders who make sure that new comers to Westwood not only feel welcomed, but find their way.  Not only does the team pass out the welcome gift, but they are tasked to help new comers find their place here at Westwood UMC.

As we are praying to have 100 brought into Westwood, the team is praying for new people to step up and help them out a Sunday morning Greeters as well as helping them out at the Welcome Kiosks found in Eckel Hall, The Welcome Center and Epworth Hall.

This ministry is calling out to you!  Contact Pastor Beth Anne if you would like to serve on this ministry.  Outgoing personality is not required….just a willingness to say Good Morning and show God’s love.

Missions, My Neighbor's Place

My Neighbor’s Place Needs You!

My Neighbor’s Place (MNP) welcomes and cares for all of our neighbors. Through MNP community churches have the opportunity to work together to improve the spiritual economic, and social quality of life for the residents of our area.

Radical hospitality and sharing Jesus’ love is at the heart of what we do. MNP primarily offers friendship, relationships, worship, help with food and clothing, and a safe space which enables people to grow together.

On Tuesday mornings we have worship, Bible Studies, donuts and a free clothing closet. The food pantry is Wednesday from 10am to noon. Every Thursday we have a breakfast at 9am, worship at 10:10am and Lifetree Cafe at 11am.

Join us make friends with your neighbors, to worship God and grow in your faith. If you are interested in serving please contact Sarah@westwoodunitedmethodist.org.
