Just as Jesus journeyed through his life to the cross, you will have the opportunity to travel with Jesus through the rooms of Westwood! Walking through the church, we will stop at various stations to consider Jesus’s life and to pray for our church and community.
We’ll depart on our trip from Eckel Hall where you will find a prayer station with directions to find the next destination. The journey will end by walking the path Jesus followed to the Cross. The Prayer Team prays that this will be a powerful and meaningful experience to enhance your Holy Week week worship.
Our Journey will be available beginning Sunday, April 14th. The following are the day and times: Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m, Monday thru Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Please join us on Thursday, April 11th at 10:00 a.m. at My Neighbor’s Place to pray for our surrounding neighborhood. We will be walking and/or driving around praying for businesses, churches, residents and current issues/concerns. Join us for this inspirational and powerful time of prayer. We have seen exciting answers to our prayers! If you have any questions, email email@example.com.
Celebrate Recovery was launched on Tuesday, March 19, at My Neighbor’s Place at 6:30 p.m. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12-step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, pain or addiction of any kind. It is a safe place to find community, as well as freedom from the issues that are controlling our life.
Everyone is welcome and there will be childcare at Westwood United Methodist Church. Questions may be directed to the church office at 513.661.3139.
DID YOU KNOW?“It was a rainy, stormy day on March 23, 1869 when “a handful of women” came together at the Tremont Street Church in Boston to form the Woman’s Foreign Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
Notices of the meeting had been sent to 28 Methodist churches of Boston and vicinity but only eight woman actually came. The church was locked when the earliest arrived but, once inside the church, the women prayed and listened to stories told by missionary wives recently returned from India of thee “shut-in women of the Zenanas, and the call of the Master to Christian women.” Women, motivated by the gospel, gave their time, skill and resources to the work of this Society. In so doing, they set in motion an organization whose world-wide accomplishments cannot be measured. The impact of those efforts is still felt today”.
DON’T YOU WANT TO BE A PART OF THAT?! This Saturday, the United Methodist Women, 800,000 strong, will celebrate their 150th Anniversary! The UMW supports programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world. One of those missions is Wesley Center for Children and Families right here in Cincinnati.
Westwood UMW will celebrate this milestone on Thursday, May 2nd for their May Banquet. Women and their children (yes boys too!) are invited to a Birthday Dinner Party featuring the Great Cindini. Tickets will be on sale in April. For further information contact the church office at 513.661.3139.
“One Voice: A Dramatic Easter Musical” follows the scriptural story of Jesus, that leads to the heart of the Easter message. It delivers a powerful and passionate message of the necessity of not remaining a “secret follower,” but using our voice to make a difference.
Please make plans to join us and bring your entire family and friends. The musical will be performed at 7:00 p.m. each evening, on Thursday April 18 and Friday April 19.
