We are gearing up for the choral season here at Westwood United Methodist Church. To begin we have our choral retreat on August 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Choir members and prospective choir members will gather for a special time of activities, bonding, food and choral music. The choir’s first scheduled date to sing is Sunday, September 2nd. If the Lord has given you a musical gift (instrumental or vocal) and you would like to share it with the church, there will be opportunities throughout the year for individuals, groups, and ensembles of varying number to perform solos in one or potentially both of our 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services.
We are also growing our praise band. The worship that we have been presenting to the Lord has been both heartfelt and engaging. We are always looking to add talented people to the roster of musicians.
If you are interested in joining one or both of our choirs (Chancel Choir or Voices of Praise), singing/playing solos, or have an interest in playing with the praise band, please contact Dr. Chris McBride at Chris@westwoodunitedmethodist.org.
The Prayer Administrative Team wants to remind you of a very easy way for you to let others know that you’re praying for them! Simply send them a prayer postcard! They’ve even make it super easy by supplying the stamp!
Let’s face it, the world can be a cold and lonely place. As disciples of Christ, we are called to be the LIGHT in a dark and sometimes lonely world. What better way to shine that light than by writing out a postcard and letting someone know you care?!
Postcards are available in all the kiosks (Eckel Hall, Welcome Center, Epworth Hall lobby). Take one (or two) today!
Please join us on Thursday, July 12 at 10:00 a.m. at My Neighbor’s Place to pray for our surrounding neighborhood. We will be walking and/or driving around praying for businesses, churches, residents and current issues/concerns. Join us for this inspirational and powerful time of prayer. We have seen exciting answers to our prayers!
If you have any questions please email Beth Strawhun at email@example.com.

Christian Mindfulness is a Christian Guided Meditation and Practice that helps participants quiet their minds, calm their senses, and experience random timeless with God in a new and personal way. Join us for June’s Session of Christian Mindfulness, where we will step away from the world and experience a journey of God’s Timeless GRACE, as told through stories found in the Old Testament!
