The next meeting of the Men’s Ministry will be held on Saturday, August 18th, in Epworth Hall. We will enjoy a continental breakfast and fellowship at 7:30am. Following that will be a discussion of Chapter 19 from the book, “The Man in the Mirror.” The topic will be The Desire to Be Independent.
All men of the congregation, young and old, are encouraged to attend and bring a friend.
The Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) is a ministry that WUMC partners with that helps homeless families and homeless women with children. They give them shelter, and help them find jobs and housing to get them back up on their feet.
Our church will be taking several homeless families in on September 30th through Oct 6th. During this week we call on you the church to help us reach out and care for these families by helping us with set up, tear down, meals, playing with the children, and hosting the families in the evening. Pouring into these families is a huge blessing for them, but you will find it is a blessing for you as well.
For more information we have a yellow brochure in the kiosks or you can call Sally Dessauer or Carol Wright at 513.661.3139
Please join us on Thursday, August 9th at 10:00 a.m. at My Neighbor’s Place to pray for our surrounding neighborhood. We will be walking and/or driving around praying for businesses, churches, residents and current issues/concerns. Join us for this inspirational and powerful time of prayer. We have seen exciting answers to our prayers!

We are gearing up for the choral season here at Westwood United Methodist Church. To begin we have our choral retreat on August 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Choir members and prospective choir members will gather for a special time of activities, bonding, food and choral music. The choir’s first scheduled date to sing is Sunday, September 2nd. If the Lord has given you a musical gift (instrumental or vocal) and you would like to share it with the church, there will be opportunities throughout the year for individuals, groups, and ensembles of varying number to perform solos in one or potentially both of our 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. services.
We are also growing our praise band. The worship that we have been presenting to the Lord has been both heartfelt and engaging. We are always looking to add talented people to the roster of musicians.
If you are interested in joining one or both of our choirs (Chancel Choir or Voices of Praise), singing/playing solos, or have an interest in playing with the praise band, please contact Dr. Chris McBride at Chris@westwoodunitedmethodist.org.
